Another really long post, Part 2

Another really long post, Part 2
I’m telling you, there’s something up with this mother’s day thing, so it was this weekend and here I am, Lexis Rush and I’m actually teary ‘bout a day. My ‘mom’ Joe wasn’t even with us (not that I’d want her to be with us, not after the way she stabbed us in the back), she went back to her life after our mission I’m still telling you about, we also went our own way, exploring the East coast a bit. I know me and my ‘mother’ didn’t have the whole mother daughter thing going, but this stinkin day made me think about how things could have been if me and Jay were never taken/given away. We would have woken up early Sunday, made breakfast and taken it to her in the bed, then I would have asked for a laptop and Jay for a bike and she would have stroked our heads and would have said no, then eat the disgusting food we’d made and say it was her best ever, we would have given our presents and left for Sunday morning church and all! Okay so I’m not as tough as I make myself sound, just don’t let the others read this okay, note to self.
Anyway had a little trouble with Erasers this week so there was less time to work on the blog, but we got rid of them, so here is a nother long post for ya to read, I'm already working on the one following this one so the story about our missions almoust finished.
And thank you to the 2 new followers, I'm finally picking up speed whoohooooo!
Well I hope I'm living up to your standards 'cause no one comments I quess I'm not pissing anyone off right now.

We flew until we hit a part where it would have gotten hard to fly unseen, it was near an airport, here we started to go down and eventually ended up in the worst place imaginable, besides a school and a public toilet you know, the inside of Joe’s Jeep. I sat in front and Glaice and a very quiet Jay sat in the back.
We were supposed to meet up with Zander and the others in the woods a few miles away from the airport, at a clearing we flew over once. We drove silently, no one opened their mouths, only occasionally I would say left/right at a fork in the abandoned Forrest road.
“So where are your flock, my gas is starting to run a little low?” Joe finally said while scanning the trees.
“We’re not far now, just keep driving.” I said sounding bored and cranky, I don’t like small enclosed spaces.
Suddenly we heard a soft thump on the roof, someone had just jumped onto the roof and didn’t want us to know just yet, warning lights suddenly went off in my head and me, Jay and Glaice jumped into fight mode. Silently I opened my window, the other two did as well, Joe drove on as if nothing happened. I got myself into the right position to climb out of the window without getting stuck.
I was the first to shoot out of the window and onto the roof, Jay and Glaice followed. I froze as I saw who was on the roof, it was . . . it was . . .
Zander.
(Hee hee you probably thought it was like some super Eraser dude with huge claws or something right? Na, that was stupid, okay continue, you may read on now)
“Zander? I thought we were supposed to meet at the clearing?” I asked, ducking under the occasional branch.
“That was the plan, but when I didn’t see you guys flying, I found the Jeep and hitched a ride, so my landing wasn’t as subtle as I’d hoped then?” he smile sheepishly and I could swear he even looked like a normal teenage boy then, al innocent and caring, not at all a paranoid bird kid leader.
“No, your landing wasn’t so subtle, we heard you, did no one tell you yet you’re a little bigger than the average bird kid?” I smiled and joked a little, he flashed red and looked every bit like a normal kid.
“hee-hee.” He laughed a bit and we all climbed into the Jeep again.
“Hello ma-am.” He greeted Joe who kinda looked a little disorientated.
“Oh, Joe this is Zander, our leader.” I said trying not to sound polite to the woman who gave me and my brother away.
The rest of our thankfully short drive was silent, no one dared to say a word.
We got to the clearing and piled out of the way to small Jeep (okay in car standards it was big, two front seats, place for 3 in the back and then way in the back there was space for 2, but in bird kids who’d like to spread their wings standards it was waaaaaaaay to small), we didn’t see the rest of the flock, they were obviously instructed to stay out of view till Zander gave the signal.
“Come out, she’s harmless!” Zander yelled out into the forest. The others slowly emerged out of the shadows of the trees.
They ignored Joe who was standing right behind me, and came to us.
“Well, this is Joe, she’s going to pay for tonight’s dinner and then when ever we’re going to go on a mission, she’s going to pay too.” I smiled wryly and figured we might as well use her if she’s going to insist on being with us for this mission. “Any ideas for a place to go and eat?”
Everyone yelled out places at once, so it was all a happy bird kid eats for free blur, we all finally decided on Mc Donald’s, again. We got there by flying, and the last bit we sucked it up and climbed into the Jeep. (That sneaky woman had a gallon of gas back in the Jeep, so gas wasn’t an issue) I still kept my eyes on Joe, she wasn’t fooling me with the whole ‘I don’t want to get involved’ story.
We arrived at the nearest Mac D’s in the town, not telling which town. We all ate like there was no tomorrow, Joe wasn’t too happy by the looks of it, she was paying after all.
“It’s a bird kid thing, get used to it, we need more calories than normal kids, so that means more food!” I said while waving over the waiter again. “Thirds anyone?”
I ordered about 2 more burgers and 3 fries, and an Oreo Mc Flurry, the waiter looked at Joe to get permission ‘cause all of us ordered more food, she just said ‘yes’ to the guy, he went to get the food.
“So where was this mission again, and what’s the details?” I asked chomping into my third burger, downing my coke after wards, very un-lady like I know!
“Like I said it’s a cloning plant in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico, it’s a really taught mission ‘cause it’s on an oiling platform, so blowing it up is way out of the question, your mission will be to shut it down, expose it, whatever you can do to stop it.”
“Sounds like fun!” T.K said while stuffing his mouth with about 11 fries at a time.
“Beats going back to a school!” Markus joined in, taking a big gulp of his milkshake.
“Been wanting to do a little Maximum Ride stile missions for a long time now!” Glaice chimed in, she was the only one with relative acceptable table manners.
Jay ate his burger silently but gave a thumbs-up, the other two girls smiled innocently and Em spoke up, “Guys I can test my powers then, I’ve been wanting to fight with you for a long time now!”
“No, absolutely no, Em you’re going to sit this out!” Zander said earnestly, Joe nodded approvingly. For starters the girl didn’t even have wings, Zander had to carry her everywhere (he’s the only one strong enough to carry anyone, Jay can carry Em, but not long distance like Zan, he’ll be even able to carry Joe if it had to be done!) Second, well you’ll be hearing ‘bout it in just a few.
Em stared at him angrily while the waiter brought our food. “Enjoy!” Was all he could say when he stared at all the food, and the empty plates on our table.
“I’m going to keep on asking till you let me help! Max let Angel fight!” Em kept asking, she raised her arms up.
“And look at all the good that did them, she got unbalanced, I’m not going to allow that to happen to you, you’re not a monster Emily, your just a kid!” Zander protested and got up from the table and went outside.
“I’ll go and talk to him.” Joe offered, ha-ha she’s so not getting involved, this is our flock, she’s just an unpleasant person who paid for the food.
“I’LL handle this, this is flock business, you’re not part of the flock, remember?” I said with cold steel in my voice.
I stood up and walked out of the Mc D’s, before I left I grabbed two burgers, if I didn’t, Mark would have taken ‘em. Zan was standing at the railing, looking out at the street and the cars driving by.
“Brought you a burger” I said as I went to stand next to him, I gave him one burger and opened the rapper of my burger and took a bite, still chewing I continued (I said I’m not that good with manners)”you know, I’m not so good with this feelings stuff, that’s more Jay’s thing, but I know I’m not going to like to see Em holding a gun to you and/or letting her get that unbalanced like that Angel. You did the right thing.”
“You’re not that good with the girly stuff, but you’re right, I’m afraid she turns out . . . like m . . . bad.” He struggled for the right words, and finally decided to go with bad.
“Luckily for us she’s no Angel, she’ll see its for the best, but you know we can’t take her on this mission, it’s too risky, even for us, we also can’t trust Joe with her, even if my instincts tells me we can.” I looked up into his blue eyes, it looked as if he wanted to tell me something but didn’t, we both looked back at the cars zooming by.
“You don’t like her that much, do you, Joe I mean?” He said after a while where he just stared out in front of him, he smiled.
“That has nothing to do with . . . oh forget it, my instinct says to trust her but I can’t, she left me and my brother for crying out loud!” Suddenly me cheering up Zan turned out to be a round of confessions, I should have let Joe come out.
“If it helps, I don’t trust her so much either, but it’s more shallow than your not trusting her, you don’t like her I don’t like her, but maybe she can help, if it’s only to protect Em.” He looked back down at me, he smiled and I just wanted to melt like, like an Oreo Mc flurry.
“Oh, gosh I forgot my Mc Flurry, Mark’s probably taken it by now!” I said as I ran back inside and found my Mc Flurry on my place, untouched. Zan came back in after I ran in, he looked more casual.
“Mark, my Mc Flurry?!” Zan finally said as he saw his was gone, I burst out laughing and after that everyone laughed, Joe got up and went to pay the huge bill.
After our little outing in the normal world we all got into the accursed Jeep again. Not long after we were all in, Joe got a call. “Joe. . . yes it’s her . . . sure . . . place for 9, maybe 10 . . . thank you for your patients . . . yes we can be there this afternoon . . . thank you very much Mac . . . I owe you . . . see you at 5, bye!”
We all looked at her, we weren’t particularly curious, well I’ll be lying if I said that we’re plenty curious. “So?” We all said at once.
She giggled a bit and said sarcastically “Thought you didn’t need me!” She was just testing my patients, and let me tell you there is not a lot of that going around. “I just got us a flight to ***** tonight, and when T.K can organize his technopathic friend your off to save the world!” (**** is my codename for a place I’m not going to reveal to you, not now anyway, it’s not a ‘mean word’)
“On it!” T.K yelled excited form the back seat. Like a pro he dialed the number in, he didn’t even need to ask if he had dialed it right. He was a pro after all, lol.
I sat in front next to Joe (the only legal driver in this Jeep), behind us in the middle back seat sat Jay, Glaice, Em and Zander, behind them in that little fold up seat things sat Mark, T.K and Lily. The Jeep was filled to capacity, and way over what is legal for a SUV this size.
“She’s coming!” T.K yelled out over-excited.
Later that afternoon I finally got to meet the little kid who called us about my mom, and who knew Zan and his gang way before we joined. She wasn’t what I imagined, I sorta expected a blond girl my age, all cute and girly, instead I saw a little 12ish red haired kid, very cute and all, I had nothing to worry about, not that I had to start with. She quickly made herself at home in our flock, except she sneezed a lot when she got near Zan, which kinda makes sense now, she’s in another flock and not in ours ‘cause of allergies around Zan.
Joe insisted that we put on other clothes and take a shower before we left for the airport, so we went shopping and actually paid for things, and after that we got dressed at the hotel Joe was staying at before she met up with us. Believe it or not, even Markus agreed to put on some shoes, at least until we get there.
So squeaky clean and stink free we all piled into the Jeep again, we were off towards the airport, a public one not one of those in the middle of nowhere private air strip thingys.
I was sooo jumpy, expecting someone to instantly know we were bird kids, instead everyone ignored us, going about their business as usual. The executive type guys creeped me out the most, they looked just like Erasers and the guys we would most likely have been sold to.
We were blending in like regular people.
“Where is the private plane we’ll be taking?” I finally asked Joe when we were sitting at those rows of seats in the terminal.
She smiled and looked at me and said “We’re not taking a private plane, that’ll be too obvious wouldn’t it, think about it a bunch of kids and a grownup getting onto a private plane heading towards one of their biggest cloning plants in America, besides they won’t try anything in public places, a little secret I learned from them.” She said confidently lying back in her chair.
The lady said over the intercom that all passengers for the flight we’ll be taking should go, so we were off, again.
